The Woman in The Moon

One day, one of Hous I’s associates notified him about the “Pill of Everlasting Life” Hou I at once dispatched his servant to get it for him from the ruler Mother of the West.

The ruler Mother dwelled by herself on peak of a high mountain. She was verty unattractive. Her teeth were as long and sharp as a tiger’s. she furthermore had nine tails. She spent her time making surgery from lawn, departs and blossoms. At first, she did not desire to give the tablet to Hou I’s servant. When he notified her who his master was, she became afraid. She quickly handed it over to him.

“Tell your expert that the tablet is very strong?” she said. He should not take it when there’s a full moon. If he does, he will go by plane directly up to the moon.”

Hou I was very satisfied to get the pill. His wife kept it for him in a closet in her room.

One evening, while she was looking at the full moon, she abruptly decided to flavour the pill. Her body immediately became lighter and her feet left the ground. She started to ride high up in the sky in the direction of the moon.

When her husband saw her, he tried to fire her down with his bow and arrow. But she was currently too far away. In a short time, she landed on the moon. She felt very freezing and lonesome. She considered of her married man. Every day and wanted to come back to him. But there was no way for her to do so. At last, she constructed a little dwelling for herself in which she dwelled all alone.
